A message from the Flute Section

The Flute section has a few "old" traditions kept alive by all of the seniors from year to year, along with a few "new" traditions and a mascot!

Before every competition, a senior gives each flute and piccolo player a Spearmint or Wintergreen Tic-Tac that can never be chewed! ("Bad Luck") and a group huddle ends with the shout of "MALACCA"!!!!

The morning before Championships, or the morning of the day-before depending on the time, the Flutes have their Flute Breakfast! Where we ALWAYS have lots of yummy food such as Crepes, Cheesy-Egg Omelets, Sausage, Muffins, Doughnuts, etc.!

An addition to the Flute section is their mascot Sophia the Swan! ("Born" during band camp of the 2001 season.) The meaning of the Swan as the Flute mascot is simple; a swan is beautiful and very graceful, like all of the flutes!

To ALL of the Nazareth Flutes in the past: Thank You! You've all helped make being in the Flute section a time full of great memories! You are missed!
